South Africa has only one Piano Man and on 10 February Charl du Plessis will upgrade your musical experience of the piano once and for all. Imagine the worlds of classical music with its romantic melodies and well-known favourites meeting face-to-face with the cool rhythms of rock, pop, blues and even jazz. This is a fresh new sound of cross-over music with quality.
South Africa’s youngest Steinway Artist will pimp his piano with the aid of a string quartet and the bass and drummer of the Charl du Plessis Trio – Werner Spies and Hugo Radyn with guest artist Juan Oosthuizen on guitar. You can even expect Charl to venture into playing the strings of the piano with his hands – something that has never seen before in Pretoria. Imagine music from movies like Chocolate and a hit by ABBA. There will be Bach, Beethoven and yes, even Lady Gaga.
